Hat, Bows, Race Cars! wow

So I guess I've been working a bit more on schoolwork than I have on my yarning, but I still have a couple pictures to put up.

Firstly, I crocheted this little number, mostly on the train from NYC to Rhinebeck. This is the only picture I have right now, I actually gave this hat away to my girl Alex.

they're pretty easy to make though, so there's plenty more where this came from. I h8 school! I'd much rather crochet. (or knit)

I also made these little all-purpose bows out of felt, glue, and buttons.cute.

I also made a little heart pin with a nice yellow kite on it.
and lastly, I made these excellent race car slippers
vroom! They're a bit small, but they look super cute on ladies with smaller feet. The pattern is my abuelita's, and I just added some little wheels on the side. They're wheely cool.
so I guess I have 7 days to make a lot of these things. I believe.

oct & 40 holder

So for this upcoming craft fair I decided to make some octopi
cute. I've made them before using this tutorialand I also made these 40 holders. I made up the pattern and they can hold a variety of things including but not limited to 40's, wines of all sizes, and water (mm!).
"my life, my choice"

too bad the embroidery is reversed. It says "40 oz." WINNER!

Hat Attack

I also made a hat for the winter. I made this pattern up completely, and used Noro yarn and double pointed needles. I can't get over how beautiful the colors are, and how they came out on the hat. This is pretty much the best hat ever. And yes, those are little hearts at the end of the cord. Amazing, right?

here is a close-up of the colors. very nice!
That's all I have for now, but my friend and I are going to have a booth at our school's craft fair in December, so I'll be making lots of things in the next few weeks.

Convertible mohair glove love

So, Nicole inspired me to make a craft blog. I like to make things. Since I am living in New York, I have to deal with the winter. It sucks, but it also inspires me to make warm things. Gloves are nice, here are some mohair ones I made with beautiful handspun yarn from New Hampshire.

These convertible fingerless gloves took me about a day each, and they can also be mittens. there's a little loop at the top so you can button the mitten cover down. The thumbs also come off, just in case you want to give somebody a bare thumbs up.

I basically used a pattern from knitty for the basic glove construction, then made up the mitten top and thumb cover. I knit them on double pointed needles with two strands of the mohair. They are super warm and really soft, the only problem is that they're white, meaning that they will get dirty quickly. oh well!
