Once upon a time

I used to be motivated and make things. So far this summer all I've only made a couple lanyards and a friendship bracelet. not that exciting, but I did inherit a sewing machine, and I have a couple projects in mind.A while ago I made some stuff for school. Peep the squishy power strip (which actually worked). Is that post worthy? I want to revive this thing. Old + new technology = fun.I made breakfast this other time and the eggs were heart shaped. Too perfect.and then more recently I devised a virus.which brough dire straits to the studio arts building.

Now, it is summer, I live in a new house, and it is time to do new things! Senior project is on the horizon, along with the rest of my life and possibly graduate school. Just wish I could make this month and the next last forever! At least I am making MONIES working at the PAC. Who knew sitting around could be so lucrative? Unfortunately I seem to have a problem with getting to bed early enough so 9am doesn't seem that bad. At least something absolutely wonderful is going to happen tomorrow night. yay!

my bad....

soooo.... its been like 3 months? I made some stuff today. check it.

I know octopi are totally played out now, but this is actually a mini hexapus. and it's a keychain!
not only is it a keychain, it's a freakin heart shaped keyring!!

and then I made this adorable shark baby. I think it's perfect. It's for a friend's bday but I really want to keep it.
and I crocheted eyes into it. I wish I had written down what I was doing because I was improvising and now I can't remember. grumble.look at that babyface oh my god. I'm slightly burnt out and I guess it's 4am. thats all for now. I'll try to post more laterz.

Semi-Legit

So, I'm trying to update more. Here is another 8-legged friend that I made to sell. It's a shame that this one is so cute. I really want to keep it.
aw. So, I'm going to be a studio art major at my school, and in order to prove myself, I have to put up a bunch of my work in a gallery. I decided to include some knitting because it's what I generally do in my free time. (sad.) I want to do a BIG piece, so I went out to get lots of cheap yarn. Do you know what four pounds of yarn looks like?

Now I do. Wow. So, here's a little doodle of what I'd like to make with all this yarn. The person should be adult-sized, I want this thing to be huge. and comfy. When I eventually move into some sort of house next semester or whatever, I want to have this guy as a piece of furniture. Functional art! excellenttttttttt. So I'll be busy with that for the next month, I think I'm going to use some crazy circular needle techniques, so I'll update with pictures of the process. Exciting!

Whoopsie Poopsie

So... I guess I haven't updated this in a while. I really haven't been that productive, but I do have some new things to show off. I'll start with the lamer things and move on to the really cool things.
I'll just jump right into it. One of these days I'll make the effort and get some profesh pictures.

#1. I decorated my geekstick!!!!!! AWESOME !!
#2. I made a cardboard heart loaf. Slice off hearts as you need them.
#3. Super cool lanyard. I intended for it to be used as a keychain, but I think it's kind of big. Whatever, I still like it. Twisty, 4 colors, and built-in keyring. solid.

Onward to the piece d'resistance.
yeeeeah baby I finally used more of that beautiful hand spun/dyed yarn from New Hampshire. I didn't have a lot so I made a nice cabled scarf to help me through the rest of the winter.

Cable close-ups. The color in real life is somewhere between the first and second shots. I hate having to use photobooth. Oh well, c'est la vie, n'est pas? I hope I stay productive... school is suspiciously easy right now. I should just take advantage of that while i can.
k bye

Hat, Bows, Race Cars! wow

So I guess I've been working a bit more on schoolwork than I have on my yarning, but I still have a couple pictures to put up.

Firstly, I crocheted this little number, mostly on the train from NYC to Rhinebeck. This is the only picture I have right now, I actually gave this hat away to my girl Alex.

they're pretty easy to make though, so there's plenty more where this came from. I h8 school! I'd much rather crochet. (or knit)

I also made these little all-purpose bows out of felt, glue, and buttons.cute.

I also made a little heart pin with a nice yellow kite on it.
and lastly, I made these excellent race car slippers
vroom! They're a bit small, but they look super cute on ladies with smaller feet. The pattern is my abuelita's, and I just added some little wheels on the side. They're wheely cool.
so I guess I have 7 days to make a lot of these things. I believe.

oct & 40 holder

So for this upcoming craft fair I decided to make some octopi
cute. I've made them before using this tutorialand I also made these 40 holders. I made up the pattern and they can hold a variety of things including but not limited to 40's, wines of all sizes, and water (mm!).
"my life, my choice"

too bad the embroidery is reversed. It says "40 oz." WINNER!
